SENSEI GOGEN YAMAGUCHI
In the 1930's, Miyagi Chojun named the Okinawan art of 'Naha Te", Goju Ryu and introduced it to mainland Japan. Miyagi Chojun authorized Sensei Gogen Yamaguchi as the successor of Goju Ryu in mainland Japan where he established the Goju Kai and succeeded in spreading the system throughout the world. SENSEI GOSEI YAMAGUCHI
Sensei Gosei Yamaguchi, eldest son of Gogen Yamaguchi is a 9th degree Hanshi and remains the head of the Goju Kai, U.S.A National Headquarters located in San Leandro, California. Sensei Yamaguchi has dedicated his life to the traditional teaching of Goju Ryu Karate Do and is known for his innovative teaching of the martial art. (read more)
SHIHAN ANTHONY FABIANO
Shihan Anthony Fabiano is the founder of Marin Goju Karate Do. He has studied martial arts for 30 years. Shihan Fabiano has been a student under Sensei Gosei Yamaguchi, 10th degree Hanshi, eldest son of the famous Sensei Gogen Yamaguchi for over 20 years. He has received Yondan ranking (4th degree) from the Goju Kai Karate Do, U.S.A headquarters and is on the panel of assistant examiners. Marin Goju Karate Do, is a sanctioned Goju Kai dojo and Shihan Fabiano is an affiliated director. As the head instructor, he teaches all of the students from 7 years of age on up with an attention to each individual and a dedication to the traditional training of Goju Ryu Karate. He resides in Marin county with his wife, and two daughters.
