KARATE YOUTH INTRO - AGES 6 - 7
Our Karate Youth Intro class is an extremely important and challenging class for children ages 6 to 7. This "Pre-Karate" class sets the developmental stages necessary for learning the basic elements that precede the curriculum in the Youth 1 program (starting at 8 years of age). The Karate Youth Intro curriculum focuses on improving balance, body strength, focus and self-control. Children can explore basic elements of Goju Karate found in the core calisthenics and basic movements, building their gross motor skills. The class is structured in a traditional format, making listening and following directions a goal. Belt ranking does not begin until the Youth 1 level, allowing children in the Karate Youth Intro Program to creatively explore new movements and their individual connection to them without the need for identifying progress with belt kyu awards.

$70/month 1 day per week / no contracts
Student not eligible for belt ranking until Youth 1

JUNIOR I - AGES 7 - 10
Juniors I is broken down into a training group of 7 to 11 year olds. All juniors in this age group practice the same basics at a moderate pace. However, as the skill level increases and the student builds confidence and increased understanding of the Goju movements, they have the freedom to increase their intensity. However, these classes are designed to reduce any pressure from competition or self evaluation about how they are performing. We make the student aware that it's their individual growth in the training that is the focus so they can become the best they can be. From this mindset, kids find great freedom in expressing themselves, and benefit from increased confidence, respect, and discipline. This type of character development is one of the many great benefits of marital arts when kids are allowed to develop in a safe environment. With 1 1/2 hour training sessions, your child will have enough time to benefit from a wonderful, and very physical experience. Every student will receive all of the attention they need to improve.
